Machine Consciousness 2011: Self, Integration and Explanation
This event seeks to bring together some of the foremost researchers in the field of machine consciousness to discuss progress so far and future directions that research might take in producing and understanding conscious systems through synthetic methods.
The event will be held in York, UK 6th -- 7th April 2011
Machine consciousness has become a field that is gaining more interest and has more influence than at any time in the past. Given that there are also several fairly well developed research programs it seems a good moment to try to bring together some of the most important researchers in this field to evaluate what has been achieved so far and to look at what might be the most fruitful future directions.
