At the first UK Robot Ethics workshop on 25th March 2013, Alan Winfield offered - for discussion - the proposition that robotics is facing a Crisis of Expectations. And not for the first time. He argues that one possible consequence is (another) AI winter.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory Zurich the University of Zurich presents Robots On Tour: World Congress & Exhibition of Robots, Humanoids, Cyborgs and more. It will take place on 8th (only for schools) and 9th (public exhibition with approx. 4'000 visitors) March 2013 in Zurich, Switzerland. Over 40 robots from all over the world such as AFFETTO, iCub, Armar, PR-2 and Cornell Ranger will be presented to the broad audience. World-class speakers such as Rodney Brooks will be attending and as an additional highlight, the AI Lab will unveil its new robot Roboy.

Interdisciplinary College 2011: Autonomy, Decisions and Free Will
The Interdisciplinary College (IK) is an annual, intense one-week international spring school which offers a dense state-of-the-art course program in neurobiology, neural computation, cognitive science/psychology, artificial intelligence, robotics and philosophy. It is aimed at students, postgraduates and researchers from academia and industry.
The school will be held in Günne at Lake Möhne 25th March -- 1sp April 2011
By combining humanities, science and technology, the IK endeavors to intensify dialog and connectedness between the various disciplines. Participants come mainly from European countries, lecturers from all over the world. Courses include up-to-date introductions to the main fields of the IK, as well as an in-depth treatment of a focus topic, which is changing from year to year.
