Embodiment, Cognition and Communication

The theme of the XXI Biennal Conference on Human Ethology will be "Evolution of Embodiment, Cognition and Communication". Over the last 10 years, embodiment has become a central topic in a large range of scientific disciplines - from robotics, cognitive sciences, psychology, and artificial intelligence to behavior research. The concept of cognition being interlaced with the physical properties of the individual has proven to be useful for achieving new insights. The concept of embodiment is inherent to evolutionary theory - as both bodies and brains are results of evolutionary processes, it is at hand that cognition, communication and behavior are embodied.

Event dates: 12 - 17 August, 2012
